Anger Management

Anger Management Workshops

Overview

Research suggest that when a young person’s anger gets out of control and turns destructive, it leads to problems in school, personal relationships and has a negative effect on their overall quality of life. It is often difficult for youth to control their anger because they do not have the knowledge, techniques or tools to manage their anger. People who do not possess the necessary skills to manage their anger effectively tend to respond with verbal and physical aggression.

Anger management techniques can help build awareness of anger and improve a young person’s ability to implement better self-control skills. For anger management to be successful, a teen must accept responsibility for their behaviors, take account of their anger and avoid blaming their emotions

Goals/Purpose

The purpose of the anger management workshop is to provide program participants with general knowledge about anger, its consequences, as well as to inform participants about anger cues and to offer tips on how to manage their anger.
